Ash Lauryn
Get to know the artist
Ash Lauryn connects DJing, writing and community-building through the Black American history of house and techno. Born in Detroit, she developed Underground & Black from a blog into radio and events. Her deep and soulful selections belong to that wider work of keeping the music's roots visible.
- Records and community
Truth, the North Atlantic EP with Jimpster and Oveous, and Underground & Black with Kai Alcé connect her voice to recorded music. In 2025 she also introduced Mother May I, a daytime gathering designed to bring parents and children together through music.
- Explore the catalogue
The Underground & Black archive on NTS offers full shows and tracklists, so you can follow the records behind the selections. Start with an episode credited to Ash Lauryn herself; the programme also includes guest selectors.
