Find my nights →Tokyo’s club nights centre on Shibuya and Shinjuku. Long-running rooms such as clubasia (1996) and WOMB (2000) sit beside big newer clubs: ZEROTOKYO under Kabukicho Tower (2023), Zouk Tokyo in Ginza (2023) and T2 SHINJUKU (2024). WOMB and Zouk Tokyo are both on DJ Mag’s 2026 Top 100 Clubs list, while small rooms such as VENT and Forestlimit and nightly DJ bars fill out the week.
Trains do not run all night. On JR East’s Shibuya timetable the last Yamanote Line trains leave shortly after midnight and the first ones run before 5am, so check the current timetable before you go. WOMB lists its nights as 11pm to 4:30am, so an all-night event ends close to the first trains.
The big clubs sell advance tickets on their own event pages, and you can usually pay a door price on the night instead. Smaller rooms often add a drink charge at the door, such as ¥600 at the Shibuya O venues when a listing says so, or Forestlimit’s ¥700 drink ticket. ZEROTOKYO takes no cash at all.
The legal drinking age in Japan is 20. The age of adulthood fell to 18 in April 2022, but the alcohol limit did not change. WOMB, ZEROTOKYO, VENT, clubasia and BRAND SHIBUYA all refuse under-20s at night and check photo ID at the door; T2 SHINJUKU sets its limit at 18. ZEROTOKYO and T2 refuse photos, copies or expired ID, so bring the original, such as your passport.
Tokyo police define a "specified entertainment restaurant business" as a nightclub or similar that entertains guests and serves alcohol between midnight and 6am, and such a business must hold a permit, applied for through the police. ZEROTOKYO cites this status as its reason for checking every guest’s ID.
In Shibuya, WOMB and clubasia are on Maruyamacho, with MIDNIGHT EAST at Spotify O-EAST and BRAND SHIBUYA on nearby Dogenzaka. In Shinjuku, ZEROTOKYO is in Kabukicho, T2 SHINJUKU is by the station’s west side and DJ BAR Bridge has a room in Shinjuku 2-chome. Outliers include VENT in Minami-Aoyama, Zouk Tokyo in Ginza and Forestlimit in Hatagaya.
