Marcel Dettmann's techno has a history reaching back into new wave, post-punk and industrial music. Raised in East Germany, he became part of Berlin's club world, with an OstGut residency beginning in 1999 and a Berghain residency beginning in 2004. Those musical roots give his work a wider frame than the club's name alone.

Ellen Allien is the stage name of Ellen Fraatz, a Berlin-based German DJ, producer and label founder. She started BPitch Control and, in 2018, UFO Inc., a label for rougher, rave-leaning techno. Her music blends IDM and techno with experimental touches, and her album Stadtkind is a tribute to Berlin. She hosts raves at RSO in Berlin under the name We Are Not Alone.
