Carl Cox connects the UK acid-house explosion with decades of techno DJing. His story is rooted in selecting and mixing records, from mobile discos to three-deck rave sets, rather than one crossover hit.

The venue
Coogee Bay Hotel’s dedicated concert and event venue, with a long-running live-music programme. The ticketed room is distinct from a casual visit to the hotel’s bars.
